How to take action

Walk - Join us to walk together in East Baltimore on Saturday, 4/2/2022! Alternatively make a plan to walk in your neighborhood, in a local park, or on Homewood campus. Ask friends and family to join you (following current CDC/ JHU guidelines), make posters, wear a JHU Walk shirt (new for 2022- details soon!) or get some AFSP gear from the AFSP store! Share videos and pictures by using #hopewalkshere #afspmaryland and tagging @afspmaryland.

Talk - Share your story, your "Why I Walk", with others and on social media using #hopewalkshere #afspmaryland and tagging @afspmaryland. Or reach out to a friend to talk about your/their mental health and have a #RealConvo. This is great example of short videos you easily could replicate: https://afsp.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=cms.page&id=1888&eventID=7357

Donate - Ask for donations as you walk that day. Share your donation page link (social media, email, text) or livestream! 80 cents of every dollar donated go to AFSP research grants, educational programs, advocacy efforts, and support suicide loss survivors.

The AFSP JHU Out of the Darkness Walk Fundraising and Activity Tracker are active through 6/30/22

For more information please go to the Out of the Darkness Walk page www.afsp.org/jhu or email JHU Walk Chairperson Carol Spencer: cspenc29@jhu.edu
